Natalie – Status Update
April 1, 2026
There was hope that Natalie would be extubated today. She was weaned from her sedation. Sadly she is getting frustrated having the tube in her throat and not being able to speak. When we spoke with her pulmonologist it was clear the treatment plan was evolving. Among other things, there was a desire to use movement to help Natalie. The goal is to consistently reposition Natalie. Specifically they will be getting Natalie out of bed. In addition, they are also talking about getting Natalie standing up which is really exciting. It is exciting to us as parents, but it is a challenge of rNatalie, specifically, she will be enduring a lot of attention and uncomfortable procedures to return to independent breathing.
